Backstory: After torturous amounts of testing, it was decided that we needed LODs for cars, in order to take the stress off of users computers when too many drivers were on. Frame drops, especially in VR, are, shall we say, not enjoyable. I do not have an ASCII barf emoticon.
:&—*@!%$#!% (close enough)
We hit up cheek0 (DTP), who was awesome <3 enough to supply us with his original models, and gave us the go-ahead to make an LD2F Pack with different physics, based off his original models. However, once Tovey started decimating, and realized he’d have to start the models from scratch, there was much swearing. Then Tov went, in his Australian accent, “Bollocks, good chap. Verily, thou wouldst cherish canoodling aboot in mine very own R31 with mine own physics, eh?”
So we took a vote in our Discords of a slew of models. The people were given voice, and the people decided. Hakusoka and CSP311 Silvia lost :~( waaaa
All compliments, stuffed animals, and other good things go to Tovey, for his ridiculous amount of effort.
Love to our LD2F brethren, for suffering through months of guinea pigging and other similar tortures.
May they treat you well,

In-Game Power Steering Adjustment
Need ~80% Damper on your steering wheels to work properly. AC restart required.
G wheels should likely use 95-100% power steering. If you start to get wheel oscillation, it is too low.
Positive change is more power steering (lighter), negative is less (heavier).
Use in-game FFB app to adjust FFB strength per car until it rarely clips.
Adjust to PS desired steering feel instead of FFB.
Setups are currently docile. If you decide you want more snap, bring rear toe to the left.
— not available on Celica or R31 (solid rear axles)
Car dampers should be on point.
Cars are built to be tandem-friendly with each other on stock setups.
Setup changes can effect this. If you want to be the fastest princess at the ball, a lack of tandem buddies is on you.
Level of Detail. Starting at 8m distance, the game will switch from drawing the full-sized models to models that are less detailed, in several stages. With no LODs, a car will default to draw its full glory (including interior) out to 2000m, hence the issue with high traffic servers. In this pack, they completely cut out at 350m, and your buddy will only be drawn as a dude in a seat, puttering around, potentially firing flames out his boot.
LD2F Car Pack le First(tm)
Cars based on true data, measured with laser protractors within 0.0003zm tolerance. Tested by realer than life professional drifters, who pre-gamed for 10 years on LFS whilst submerged in hyperbaric chambers at the peak of Mt. Fuji. Skins skinned from the backs of free roam alpacas, grazing happily on gene-spliced Azteca-Mayan corn for the ultimate sheen.

Honorable Mention: Tovey’s most excellent wife, without whose support, Tovey might do something practical with his life <3
Shoutout to: Wack Mods / DSG / ShaDynasty / DTP / L2D / Boyz 2 Men / ABC / BBD / The East Coast Family
And, much love to Matt Panic of ShaDynasty, for extensively talking us through TA33 Celica behaviors, since none of us have ever gotten to play with one on track >.<
- LODs – 4-5 models per car, less detail at greater distances for high traffic servers, to improve frames and reduce stutter
- In-game Power Steering adjustment (see README if you want this to work)
- In-game overall Brake Power adjustment.
- Low-mid power (SR is 320bhp, others matched depending on weight/behavior, some sandbagged)
- Tyre Wear – custom tyres for each car, built for 50% tyre wear. Requires a few laps of burn-in.
- Cars balanced to play well with each other
- Cars optimized across Fanatec, Thrustmaster, and G wheel types.
Cars are built to Johnny-Went-To-ProAm-and-Got-To-Top-8 spec.
These are not built to 1:1 numbers, there are other groups that provide this service.
Our personal preference, is cars that feel like our own, as substitute seat time for when not on track.
